Gardening Club

It is a student club where studentscollaborate to plant, weed, and mulch our gardens. In 2024, we participated in the Lake Macquarie City Council Living Smart Garden Bed competition, where we won the People's Choice Award!

We all sort our waste using a colour-coded system with pictures to easily help identify the correct bin for recycling, compost, or general waste. We also have a designated problem waste recycling station in the office to ensure the proper disposal and recycling of hazardous or non-traditional waste materials.

HPS is excited to be in the planning stages of building a tiny forest in our school grounds! This is a small, densely planted area that mimics a natural forest ecosystem and is designed to support biodiversity, provide educational opportunities, and offer environmental benefits!
