Buddy Program
At Hillsborough Public School, our buddy program pairs five Year 6 students with five Kindergarten students in a buddy group. Our Year 6 buddies foster friendships between our kindergarten students and provide support on the school playground. Buddies are crucial in helping younger students feel welcomed and engaged at school.
Our goal is that by the end of the Kindergarten Orientation sessions, your child will know the name of at least two Year 6 friends ready to start the new school year.
Buddy Groups guide their Kindergarten students during school activities, playtime and special projects. They provide encouragement andact as positive role models, helping to create a caring andinclusive environment.
