Cardiff High Expo Day

A mixture of excitement and nervousness was evident in the 32 Year 6 Hillsborough students who started their Wednesday at Cardiff High School for the 'Expo Day'. Students were quickly placed into groups and started their day, getting the opportunity to have an experience of learning ‘High School style'.

Our students started the day attending either a HSIE, Sport or Language lesson. A few of the students commented on the way to their HSIE lesson that they would get their steps today and that there are so many stairs at high school.

The students got a fantastic snapshot of what a high school lesson may look like with teachers giving a brief overview of a Year 7 class and what they might expect to cover over the course of a year. As always with our Hillsborough students it was a pleasure to see them engaged with the variety of lessons on offer and making the most of the experiences they participated in.

Recess was a highlight for some with the opportunity to sample the variety of products offered at the high school canteen. After a short break we were back into our next round of lessons with students engaged in Sport, Art, Music, English, Languages and Mathematics. A BBQ lunch provided by the school rounded off a fantastic day for our Year 6 cohort.
